The Archive

The Kanwar Mohinder Singh Bedi Literary Trust holds one of the most comprehensive collections of Kunwar Mohinder Singh Sahar's personal photographs, spanning more than five decades. These images document not only the poet's public life — his readings at major mushairas across India, his official postings, his recognition from literary institutions — but also intimate moments that reveal the man behind the verse.

From candid shots taken at literary gatherings in Delhi, Lucknow, and beyond, to family photographs preserving moments of everyday life, and the handwritten manuscripts that show Sahar's meticulous creative process, this archive is a visual testament to a life devoted to Urdu poetry and cultural preservation.

The Trust is engaged in an ongoing effort to digitise, catalogue, and conserve these photographs. Many images have been restored from faded negatives and prints, revealing details long obscured. We are committed to making this collection accessible to scholars, students, and poetry lovers worldwide. If you have photographs or documents related to Kunwar Mohinder Singh Sahar, we would be honoured to include them in this growing archive.
