Jashn e Sahar 2022
An evening of tribute, remembrance, and music — celebrating the life and poetry of Kunwar Mohinder Singh ‘Sahar’.

Jashn e Sahar 2022 brought together family, poets, statesmen and lovers of Urdu literature for an evening devoted to the memory of Kunwar Mohinder Singh ‘Sahar’. The programme opened with a tribute from the host, followed by a welcome address, a portrait of Sahar’s persona, and short films recalling his life and friendships.
The centrepiece was the release of the book Jashn e Sahar by the Chief Guest, followed by an address on Sahar’s literary contribution. A distinguished panel — drawn from the judiciary, government, academia and the arts — reflected on the poet’s voice and its continuing relevance.
The evening closed with a cultural session of ghazals and kathak — Sahar’s own verses set to music, performed by Minu Bakshi, Ganesh Mehra and Dr Yash Gulati, with dance by Shivani Verma.

Moderated by Shri Ashwajit Singh — with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad, Prof. Najma Akhtar, Ms. Kamna Prasad and Major R. S. Bedi Vrc (Retd), reflecting on Sahar’s voice and its continuing relevance.
